Updated November 14, 2018 by Sam Kraft

This wiki has been updated 20 times since it was first published in November of 2018. Campers, hunters, fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts who often spend time in isolated areas know better than anyone how important it is to be prepared for the unexpected. Part of that preparation is acquiring the right tools. If you ever find yourself in an emergency situation where you have to cut firewood or clear a path in the wilderness, you’ll be glad you have one of these pocket chainsaws. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

November 08, 2018:

Included the SOS Gear Hand and Overmont Standard as models with a camo color option for hunters as well as a couple models with bright, high-visibility handles. Reports suggest that the LivWild Wilderness can cut through wood that is several inches thick with consistent speed. Noted that the Chainmate CM-36SSP is designed for use with gloves, making it useful in the winter.
