In Depth

Perrie Louise Edwards was born on July 10, 1993, in South Shields, England, United Kingdom. She has gained international fame as one of the members of the girl group Little Mix.

Perrie is the daughter of Deborah Duffy and Alexander Edwards. She has two siblings, a brother named Jonnie and a half-sister named Caitlin. According to an interview with Vevo, her parents are both singers, and they are the ones who influenced her love for music.

She has also said that her favorite singer is Alanis Morissette, and that her most-loved fashion style is the boho look. Perrie can be seen wearing hipster themed outfits on some of her Instagram pictures. She finished her studies at Newcastle college, where she earned her Performing Arts degree.

Before she turned 18, Perrie auditioned as a solo singer for the "X Factor" UK contest, but got rejected during the boot camp stage of the competition. Eventually, the judges decided to put her in a girl band with 3 other members, and they were initially called Rythmix. The group's name was changed to Little Mix later on. Perrie's band became the winner of "The X Factor" in 2011 and was the first girl group to win the competition.

The other members of Little Mix are Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

Perrie continued singing and writing songs with Little Mix after they won their title. Their first album was entitled "DNA" and got its official release on November 19, 2012.

The group has since released three other albums, which are "Salute," "Get Weird," and "Glory Days."

Perrie met Zayn Malik the same year that Little Mix won their X Factor title. He is a member of the boy band One Direction, which was formed through the same contest.

It wasn't until 2012 that Perrie and Zayn became a couple and announced their relationship to the public. However, a few years later, rumors of Zayn cheating on his girlfriend went around because of controversial pictures.

In 2013, the couple announced their engagement to the public. But their new commitment only lasted for two years because Zayn eventually called off their wedding in 2015. A year after their breakup, Perrie Edwards confirmed to her fans, through Little Mix's Book, "Our World," that her ex-boyfriend broke up with her using a text message.

After Zayn and Perrie parted ways, the Little Mix member met Liverpool football star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. They started dating in 2016 but only confirmed their romance in 2017 when they began posting photos of each other on Instagram.

Perrie and her Little Mix co-members have received a number of awards for their songs. The list includes "Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women," "Best UK and Ireland Act," and the "British Single of the Year" award.

Aside from performing on stage and making albums, Perrie also earns money through modeling and product endorsements. According to news articles about her, she has a net worth of around 2 million dollars. She keeps her fans updated through her Twitter and Instagram accounts where she posts her latest pictures and videos.
