The 6 Best Bluetooth Padlocks

Updated January 15, 2021 by Brett Dvoretz

This wiki has been updated 19 times since it was first published in January of 2019. You've gone from carrying quarters for the payphone and listening to an AM/FM radio to having a tiny, powerful computer with you at all times, so why are you still securing valuables in the locker room with the same thing you used in 1996? One of these Bluetooth padlocks can free you of unnecessary keys and the burden of remembering a combination, so you can concentrate on more important stuff. When users buy our independently chosen editorial recommendations, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

January 13, 2021:

The Bluetooth lock category is saturated with re-branded, generic models that all look the same and are probably manufactured in the exact same facility. We have decided to exclude the majority of those and only include a single one to represent all of them, which is the Bofei Megafeis FB. Without a doubt the Tapplock One+ and Tapplock Lite have the most reliable apps. Other than overall build, with the One+ being the more robust of the two, they both have essentially the same functionality for the most part, which includes three methods to open them. A notable difference however is the Lite has a shorter battery life. Perhaps the most innovative item here is the BoxLock Smart 001. At face value it seems like a great way to keep your packages secure until you arrive home to bring them inside, however it can be difficult to get delivery people to adopt the use of it.

There are not yet a lot of selections in this category, and as such, all our picks have some benefits the others lack. If you want to use one for your bike, one for the gym, and one for home, you'll want an option that lets you control multiple locks with a single account. If you need to give access to more than one person, there are some that can program several users. And if you'd prefer not to keep your phone on you at all times, there are choices with fingerprint or Apple Watch access. It really comes down to which features you value beyond just the ability to use your phone.

He has been a professional chef, a dog trainer, and a travel correspondent for a well-known Southeast Asian guidebook. He also holds a business degree and has spent more time than he cares to admit in boring office jobs.
