The 10 Best Cat Clocks
Special Honors
PerAsperaAd Wood Featuring four fun silhouettes to choose from, the PerAsperaAd Wood is a large choice that's completely noiseless, so it will be noticed but not heard. Each is crafted from birch plywood and boasts attractive, gold-colored hardware with a red second hand. etsy.com
Signals Cat Sounds The Signals Cat Sounds marks each hour with meowing, but don't worry, a sensor stops these noises when it's dark out so you can get some sleep. At 12 inches in diameter, it's neither too big nor too small, and it runs on AA batteries, so powering it isn't too tricky. signals.com
Editor's Notes
June 26, 2020:
When it comes to cat-themed clocks, the Kit-Cat Original is an iconic classic, but it's far from the only option. It's perhaps the only choice that comes in such a wide range of colors, however, so if you want to match your wall color or kitchen towels, it's a good bet. We've added another option with vintage flair at this time, too, the Felix The Cat Motion. In some ways, it's quite similar to the former: both have moving eyes and tails, with a clock built into the midsection of the animal. The latter is based on a popular cartoon cat of the same name, so it's a natural choice for fans of the animated character. We removed the Elelife Pendulum, another wagging tail choice, over concerns about its durability.
As for choices with a different style, we removed the Primitives by Kathy, also over worries about its durability, but kept both the Ashton Sutton and the Infinity Instruments Table Top. These are simple but elegant, with a black and white design scheme that will fit into most types of decor. On the more colorful side, there's the Allen Designs Craft Attack and the Allen Designs Kimi Kitty. These are fun, bright pieces that are sure to draw attention, especially since they both have a pendulum.
Finally, for a digital choice, we selected the iHome Hello Kitty. An alarm clock, it can wake you up in the morning, then play you music throughout the day, thanks to an FM radio and Bluetooth connection capability. Note that it has a handful of buttons and isn't the most intuitive to operate, so if you're prone to impatience when dealing with devices, it may not be your best bet.
