Editor's Notes
May 25, 2021:
In this update, we removed the Mister M Ultimate Flowerstick Set due to some quality issues. While the collapsible components were convenient for travel in theory, they were difficult to pull apart and had issues with end caps falling off and elastic bands snapping easily.
While we already had several selections from Flames N Games on the list, we thought that the Flames N Games Art Deco deserved a spot nonetheless, thanks to its unique designs. While most options have either solid colors, simple two-toned designs, or stripes, this one is available in five different prints with designs like yin-yang and sugar skull. The hand sticks are coated in the pattern too, so all of the pieces match.

Devil sticks are a great new challenge for those who are already into juggling, but they can also serve as an excellent introduction for those new to skill toys. Similar to something like a kendama, Devil sticks require minimal setup, which allows them to be used virtually anywhere.
The two main types of models you'll encounter on our list are flower sticks and devil sticks. For those that are new to this type of juggling and see learning as a daunting task, flower sticks are the most appropriate option. Many have high-grip coatings and balanced designs, which enable beginners to practice without constantly dropping their baton. For those that are looking for something more challenging, the traditional devil sticks are a great choice. These classic sticks have a conical shape that tapers toward the middle, and are often built from hardwood with a slick finish. This makes them harder to handle, but lends itself to faster speeds and more advanced tricks.
For people who want to test the waters without spending too much, the Flames N Games Flash Pro and the Jolly Lama Jrs are both great options. Though they come at an affordable price, they're still made to a high standard, and are a decent choice for kids and adults alike.
If you already have some experience, then you might want to look at the Flames N Games Moonshine. This is a classic devil stick with the unusual ability to glow in the dark, which allows for exciting night performances, or even just practicing after sunset. If you want an even greater conquest, graduate to the Flames N Games Fire Set. The effect created by this baton's flammable ends is mesmerizing, but we strongly encourage you to use extreme caution whenever fire is involved. These sticks are not for anyone under 18, and should only be used by experienced jugglers.
For beginners who aren't against spending a little more, you can't go wrong with either the Jolly Lama Blue Majestix or the Liston Concepts Lunastix Kid. Both are extremely durable, and are made from high-quality materials that will easily withstand hours of practice. These models might seem a little expensive for your first foray, but they should last you well into your expert years.
