The 10 Best Double Sleeping Bags
Special Honors
Nemo Tango Duo You can save some space with the Nemo Tango Duo, which is a "comforter system" rather than a bag. To use, you slip the backless bag over your sleeping pad(s), thereby creating a bed and cutting down on your pack's overall weight. nemoequipment.com
Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed Duo The Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed Duo isn't just any old sleeping bag. The integrated comforter has insulated arm pockets, so it feels like a toasty blanket, and it's completely zipperless, to boot. This means you can't separate it into separate bags, though. sierradesigns.com
Editor's Notes
February 06, 2021:
During this update, we removed the Ohuhu Waterproof, Tenive Camping, and Canway Flannel, as these were all very similar to one another, and we still have the Sleepingo Queen XL, which has essentially the same design and material construction as the three that we eliminated. This freed up space to include a lot more variety in our recommendations, from ones suitable for very frigid temperatures, like the Browning Camping Side-by-Side, to convertible options, such as the The North Face Dolomite One Duo, which has zip off layers so it can be used comfortably in most seasons. Among other changes, we also added the Naturehike Ultralight. Though it isn't truly a double sleeping bag, you can zip two of them together to create one, and it is one of the lightest and most compact bags available on the market, making it one of the best choices for people who will be hiking far distances to their campsite.

At this time, we've unfortunately had to remove the Blackpine Sports Grizzly, Famous Juggle, and Abco Tech due to issues with availability, but not to worry, as there are still plenty of great double sleeping bags out there. In fact, our top choice, the Sleepingo Queen XL, remains easy to find. This choice comes with two pillows and a stuff sack, and it zips into two bags for quarters that aren't so close. But it does have one small drawback, the thinness of the material, which means it's not suited to truly cold or unruly weather. For that, you may want to look at the Winterial Mummy or the Marmot Mavericks. Most users find the former to be a bit bulky and heavy, so choose it for car camping rather than ultralight backpacking. We also added the Big Agnes Dream Island 15. You might be familiar with the company, and this bag lives up to their reputation for quality gear. Note that you'll need to pair it with either one standard rectangular pad or a doublewide pad, which will add to the overall investment. But this model should last for the long haul, so if you have the budget and you camp a lot, it may be the right choice.
