Editor's Notes

May 24, 2019:

After extensive research, it's clear that Akiles and Lassco-Wizer are the highest (and only) quality electric corner rounder manufacturers, so this list is limited to only those two companies.

There are two other generic-style models that pop up online, and even though they're priced a bit cheaper than the machines listed here, they always fail to include any kind of legitimate brand or manufacturer info that would qualify them for a "best of" list. When you're investing in a machine whose only job is to cut something extremely accurately, risking it on a cheap version just isn't a good idea.

The good news is, with such a limited pool of quality options, your decision will pretty much come down to your production requirements. How much paper do you need rounded, and how fast do you need to get it done?

Price-wise, it's pretty straightforward: the more expensive the machine, the more material it will be able to cut at one time, and the faster you're able to get one project done and move onto the next. It's just up to you to decide how much you'll be saving in labor, and if that will offset the investment of the machine.

For example, if you're a smaller shop whose only cutting a few hundred sheets of paper a day, then there's no reason to spend $4600 on an Akiles 7, when you can get all that done on a much cheaper Lassco in roughly the same amount of time (and if you're cutting less than that, you might want to just think about buying a $100 manual corner rounder that works just as well).
