The 10 Best Freestanding Towel Warmers
Editor's Notes
July 10, 2020:
If you're the type of person who doesn't enjoy getting out of the shower into a cold room then a heated towel warmer may help stave off the chills. The ones we reviewed here are all freestanding electric models which makes them portable and efficient. They are available in a range of shapes, sizes, and finishes, for carrying multiple towels, and to complement your bathroom decor and hardware.
There are two main types of towel warmers: ladder rack and canister. The Zadrow Towel Warmer and the Ivation Luxury Heater are both bucket-style options that can accommodate up to two large bath towels at once, or even a bathrobe. They feature a timed function that allows them to be pre-warmed for a certain amount of time, and due to their design, are effective at heating items quickly and evenly. It stands to reason that more surface area means more drying power, and larger families would likely benefit from one of the roomier options, such as the Lywish Plug In, which is a double-sided rack with six bars on each side. The Amba SAFSB-33 and the Warmrails Hyde Park are also substantial in size and warm up in under 20 minutes.
If you're looking for a certain type of finish to match your hardware or faucets, then the WarmlyYours Ibiza and the Lywish Plug In are made from polished stainless steel. The Warmrails Hyde Park and the Warmrails HCC Classic are available in both chrome or nickel, and the Knox Gear 6 bar is made from brushed aluminum, which heats up quickly and won't corrode. The Homeleader small comes in a white lacquered finish, however, it is quite compact and can only really hold hand towels.
