The 10 Best Hardware Organizers
Editor's Notes
November 25, 2020:
For this update, we replaced the Tactix 320020 with the Tactix 320632, a standalone organizer that fit our category better than its predecessor’s multiple box kit.
We also added the DeWalt DWST17805, replacing our old DeWalt model, the DeWalt Toolbox, that lacked any real organization capabilities. To make things even easier to find in your organizer, you might want to use a label maker to customize your unit.
If you’re looking for something more catered to construction or home improvement, one of these tool organizers might be a better choice. Or, if you’re looking for a permanent option to keep in your garage or workshop, one of these tool chests could better suit your needs.

Replaced the Akro-Mils Cabinet — it’s a decent model, but it’s extremely similar to the Akro-Mils Craft (which already appears on the list), and it does not offer the same variety in terms of compartment sizes. Bumped the DeWalt Toolbox up a few couple of spots upon seeing consistent reports that it’s not only suitable for effectively organizing a variety of small parts (bolts, washers, screws, etc.), but it offers ample capacity for housing plenty of commonly used tools like screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and hammers, all while remaining easy to manage with its long handle. Also moved up the Work Van Mobile, as users seem very satisfied with its convenience — its comfortable carrying strap, easy-to-access compartments, included labels, and belt clips are all features worth noting. Added the Tactix 320020 Set as a high-quality budget option that’s suitable for a range of applications outside of basic hardware storage.
