The 10 Best LED Faucets
Editor's Notes
May 21, 2020:
In spite of the Depras Waterfall and Efluky 3 Colors being removed due to availability issues, an influx of new offerings in this category saw these rankings balloon from a list of five choices to a full 10-selection wiki. Some notable new additions this time around include the Lovedima Classic Victoria – which is backed by a lifetime warranty and emits an illuminated waterfall that’s seven inches wide, the Cascada Showers Chrome Finish HDD727A – a striking option that works well with bathroom vanities, and the Aimadi Commercial Pull Down – a great choice for the kitchen that’s equipped with a constant-stream tap and a large, overhead, spring-loaded sprayer head.
A few things to think about for this category:
Power Source: A common question surrounding LED plumbing fixtures is whether or not they require a hardwired connection or an electrical outlet to power them. In practice, neither is required and, in fact, most models are self-powered by miniature turbines integrated into their designs and activated by water flow. One notable exception to this rule is the Rovate Glass, which is powered by four four AA batteries.
Drains: Given how clear it seems that models like the Lovedima Lighted DM20058-6, Rozin Two Handles and Rovate Glass are intended for use as bathroom faucets, it’s disappointing that so few options in this category are compatible with pop-up drains – enabling you to control them with a convenient lever behind your taps. If you are considering one of these models in spite of this lack of functionality, make sure to leave room in your budget for a push-down drain – which is a self-contained unit that’s closed or opened simply by pushing down on it.
Stream or Spray: Many users will be familiar with the difference, as kitchen faucets commonly have the option to do both. While waterfall models like the Bathadore Widepread E1-16430-ORB and Cascada Showers Chrome Finish HDD727A are restricted to stream functions (albeit, wider stream functions than a standard fixtures), selections like the Owofan Pull Down are limited to spraying. Options like the Aimadi Pull Down have a single head that’s capable of both spraying and streaming, and others, like the Aimadi Commercial Pull Down, have a head specifically for spraying, and a secondary head for streaming.
Once you're done shopping in this category, don't forget to pick a matching fixture out from our list of LED shower heads.
