Editor's Notes
June 12, 2020:
In creating our list of kids' travel pillows, we wanted to focus on playful designs, as parents often need all the help they can get convincing their little ones to take a nap. With that in mind, we decided to remove the Flying Bear because it looks more like an adult model, plus it loses its shape over time. Though the Animal Planet Giraffe has a cute aesthetic, we replaced it with the World's Best Critter Piller, which is quite similar but is available in more animal options.
When away from home, children often want to bring comfort items, like teddy bears or toys, along with them, so we like that the Kikkerland Zip and Flip and the Satellas Animal Pal transform into stuffed animals, giving cuties something to hug when they aren't snoozing.
Many travel pillows face one common struggle: they won't stay in place, especially on someone who moves around a lot in their sleep. To help with that, we looked for items with features that combat that issue, like the Nido Nest U-Shaped, which has a snap closure, and the Trunki Yondi, which has magnetic ends to hold it closed. The BCozzy Chin Support is another good one, as it wraps around the neck, doubling over itself, to prevent slippage.
As these items are for travel, we appreciated pillows that could be easily packed, and for that reason, the Trtl Junior, which can be folded, and the Byron's Games Trailblazers 360, which has a carrying bag, snagged spots on the list.
