Best High-End
Best Mid-Range
Best Inexpensive

We spent 23 hours on research, videography, and editing, to review the top choices for this wiki. Near-Field Communication (NFC) is a technology that is being implemented in everything from metro cards and smart-pay apps to speakers, like the ones on our curated list. Rather than begrudgingly accepting Bluetooth's capricious nature when it comes to pairing a new device, with NFC, all you have to do is place your phone within 4 cm of one of these models and they'll quickly connect. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to support our work. Skip to the best nfc speaker on Amazon.

Editor's Notes

February 11, 2019:

More and more devices are including NFC technology, so really, this list will morph over the coming months and years, and hopefully, soon enough, NFC speakers will be a redundant phrase. Until then, our choices are somewhat limited, but that hasn't stopped us from being able to find 10 really fantastic models, some for the everyday user, and others bordering on the level of audiophile quality. The Dali Katch is an example of the latter, and picks like the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ balance sound quality with elegance and simplicity. At the other end of the spectrum, the Creative Muno Mini offers ease-of-use and decent sound. Between these options are a gradient range of models with different features, like the JBL Flip 4's ability to be fully submerged in water.

Daniel is a writer, musician, and frequent traveler with a bachelor’s in creative writing from the State University of New York. In recent years, his writing chops have developed alongside his musical skills, thanks to a rich double life. During the day, he apprenticed with “Rolling Stone” journalist and critic Will Hermes, and when the sun set, he and his NYC-based, four-piece band gigged at high-end venues across the northeastern United States. His affinity for sharing things he's passionate about has culminated in nine years of experience as a music teacher at elementary schools, where he honed his ability to simplify and elucidate concepts to the uninitiated. All considered, he feels most at home writing about instruments, audio electronics and backpacking gear.
