The 10 Best Paleo Cookbooks
Editor's Notes
September 02, 2020:
While there hasn't been a lot of shakeup in this category, we did see fit to replace the Insta-pot cookbook with something a little more versatile. For that, we reached for Well Fed Weeknights, which really feels like it takes the "diet" out of the Paleo diet by digging deep into street food, fast food, takeout, and other indulgences that seem to fall by the wayside when things like Paleo or Keto are the order of the day.
This actually brings us to an important distinction. A title like Autoimmune Paleo, for example, is clearly intended for use by people with immune disorders who could see a significant change in their quality of life by reducing their intake of gluten, sugar, starches, nightshades, and other no-nos of the Paleo approach. Even if you aren't concerned about your health, you might have an intolerance to one or more of these sources, and a book dedicated to autoimmune health might be more helpful than something like Paleo Happy Hour (which is phenomenal for anyone with alcohol in their diets).
If you're more in it for the weight loss or muscle building potential, then most of the books we've included (including immune-centric options), would do the trick, but a book with more information, like the jam-packed Practical Paleo, 2nd Edition, might be the best way to make the transition and stay there.

In creating this new iteration of our ranking, we saw fit to remove some of the older books out there in favor of a few that better reflect the current state of culinary trends. Super Paleo Snacks, for example, was a bit outdated in that it didn't include any nutritional information. The newer tomes are more in line with recent revolutions in the kitchen, with one that's approved by the Whole 30 method, and another that focuses on the use of the instant pot, which has taken the cooking world by storm over the past couple of years. We also included an update to Nom Nom Paleo, which is now in its second edition.
