Special Honors

La Mer The Hydrating Facial La Mer The Hydrating Facial is an all-cotton mask infused with what the company calls their "Miracle Broth," which contains a long list of ingredients that are supposed to boost skin health in several ways. According to the manufacturer, its jojoba seed oil is anti-inflammatory to soothe irritation, its rice bran extract can reduce the appearance of dark spots, and its avocado oil is deeply hydrating. cremedelamer.com

Olivela Cellcosmet CellCollagen Face and Neck Sheet Masks While their price point certainly puts these in the splurge category, the Olivela Cellcosmet CellCollagen Face and Neck Sheet Masks may be worth it. These clinically-tested masks contain amino-peptide complexes, which are the very building blocks of proteins in the skin. They also contain potentially hydrating ingredients, along with some that are intended to boost the skin's absorption of those moisturizers and help to prevent water loss. olivela.com

Editor's Notes

June 10, 2020:

Because individuals can face a variety of complexion issues, from flakiness to acne to rosacea, we wanted to present a list of sheet masks that aims to cover a good majority of those problems. It was also important to us that the ingredients used in our selections are gentle while still being potent, and that users felt refreshed after removing each one. On that final note, we like the SK-II Facial Treatment because of its lightweight consistency, but we removed the 5 Days Black Charcoal because it can leave the skin feeling gooey.

We decided to remove variety packs that offered several masks with vastly different formulas, as skincare experts recommend against trying too many products within a short period, and it's reportedly best to give the skin time to adjust to new treatment. The Innisfree It's Real Squeeze, the Real Nature, the SNP Cosmetic Animals, and the Dermal Collagen Essence all lost their spots.

Those focused on beating back the hands of time who want to add to their regimen of wrinkle creams, chemical peels, and the like might appreciate the Julep Triple Quench, which allegedly boosts collagen production, and the Skederm Snail Jelly, which is formulated to fight premature aging. Even though the My Beauty Diary Natto is said to battle wrinkles and fine lines, it doesn't actually contain any Nattokinase, so it lost its place.

We aimed to only provide products from companies who are forthcoming about their ingredients, and for that reason, the Mediheal Aquaring Ampoule Ex is no longer on our list as it is very hard to find concrete facts about its formula.

As for those hoping to address discoloration issues, we added the TonyMoly I'm Real Luminating Lotus, which can minimize hyperpigmentation, and the Orgaid Greek Yogurt & Nourishing, which may fade dark spots.
