The 10 Best Thickness Planers
This wiki has been updated 10 times since it was first published in December of 2018. You can have all the faith in the world in your local lumber supplier, but if you want to be 100-percent confident in the size and finish of your wood, you should cut the boards to your desired thickness with one of these planers. We’ve included heavy-duty models that are ideal for carpenters who require maximum efficiency as well as more affordable options for handy hobbyists. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes
January 02, 2019:
Included the Bosch PL1632 as the only handheld model on the list for users who value portability above all else. Noted that the Makita 2012NB is one of the only options I came across with built-in storage for ancillary items, which will come in handy for people with cluttered work areas. Researched the Delta Power, but too many reports of a loud rattling noise and short lifespan led me to omit it from the list.
