The 6 Best Truffle Butters
Editor's Notes

There's more than one way to get the classic flavor of truffle into your food, even if you don't want to pay a significant amount for fresh ones. Truffle salt is one of my favorites, particularly because it's easy to use small amounts, which tends to be good for most cooks. Truffle oil is extremely potent and easy to overuse, but some people like a really forward truffle flavor, so it's popular. Truffle Honey is a another very good option, as its sweetness blends well the fungus's complex flavor.
Gourmet Ghee starts off with super-high-quality clarified butter and adds powerful natural ingredients, and it's certified to be lactose free, so it's a great choice for a lot of people who otherwise can't even eat butter. Truffles USA makes a great product that says right there on the label that there are no mysterious "natural flavorings" in it, just butter and truffle. It does, however, have a relatively low fungus content, so it may not be quite as flavorful as others. Urbani is one of the most popular brands and many users claim it's the best, however, the Terroirs d'Antan uses a multi-faceted approach to infusing the butter with 4 different methods of adding truffle flavor, which means it likely has the closest overall profile to the real thing. It's expensive, but it also comes in a restaurant-style tube and may be the perfect thing to dollop on top of a medium-rare steak.
