This wiki has been updated 26 times since it was first published in April of 2017. Spending a day at the ocean, the lake, or the pool is fun for everyone — adults and children alike — but it can get cold quickly. If you're looking to play in the water with your kids, but want them to be comfortable, here's a selection of the best youth wetsuits for ensuring they remain happy and warm. They also increase buoyancy and can provide protection from abrasions and the sun. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

March 11, 2019:

Depending on their favorite water-based activities, your kids may have different requirements for their wetsuits. Those ocean-dwellers who just can't stay away, even when it's very cold, will love the the Seavenger Scout, since it is 3mm thick and has full-length legs and arms. The O'Neill Youth Reactor 3, Layatone Premium, O'Neill Toddler Reactor 2, Cokar One Piece, and Dark Lightning CR are also full-length models, but they are made from thinner neoprene, so while generally warmed than short-cut models, might not be suitable for frigid water, When uninhibited movement and play is of the utmost importance, the Hyperflex Access and O'Neill Reactor Spring Toddler are ideal. If you have a triathlete-in-the-making on your hands, then models like the O'Neill Toddler Reactor 2, with its strategic paddle zones, and the highly-buoyant Dark Lightning CR, will come in handy.
