July 14, 2020:
One of the main benefits of having a phone case made of wood is that the material is long-lasting, so we prioritized durable models when making our list. We also know that many consumers like that wooden phone cases can have attractive engravings, as well as stunning natural patterns, so we also looked for products that take advantage of these features. It was also important to us that the accessories here don't interfere with the use of your device in any way, as well as offer protection in the face of drops.
On the durability front, the iProducts Elephant Cherry and the CaseYard Tribal Mountains stood out right away because they can withstand eight- and six-foot drops, respectively. The fact that the iProducts Elephant Cherry comes with a car mount is a plus. We also appreciate the fortified bumpers on the YFWood Heavy Duty Geometric, and the grippy texture of the Tendlin Hybrid Wood & Leather, which minimizes the chances you'll drop your phone. Unfortunately, we had to remove the Jubeco Slim as the backing peels off after little use.
When it comes to protecting your device's screen, we like the Iato V.X.BSL for its raised bezel lip. The Recover Skateboard also has raised edges to prevent scratches and breaks in the event of a drop.
When it came to style, the Recover Skateboard stood out again because of its vibrant design. A couple of others that earned places on the list thanks to their aesthetics include the CYD Natural Carving and the Reveal Sunset Ocean Wave. The Carved Luxury Traveler showcases the natural beauty of wood, so it also snagged a place on the list.

Few phone-related items garner as much attention and compliments as a good-looking wooden case. Because they run more expensive than counterparts made of synthetic materials, they are still relatively rare. Almost everyone has a phone case, but one made of wood is an attention grabber. Especially if you choose one that features artistic etching, such as the Carved Luxury Traveler. It's hard to go wrong with its handcrafted designs which make each case distinctive.
We like the ones with textured edges because they offer a better grip than those without. For this reason plus its low price tag and simple aesthetic appeal, we bumped the Jubeco Slim to one of our top slots.

When buying a wooden case, one thing to bear in mind is your personal experience with your device. If you don't frequently drop it and just need something to protect from standard wear and tear, then opting for cheaper cases is a great idea. You'll save money, and you can still find fantastic items like the Tendlin Silicone Hybrid. The fact that it's flexible makes it easy to remove, which means you can clean it more often. More cleaning means fewer scratches, which is always nice. If, however, you tend to find your phone on the floor more often than you'd like, then the higher end products are worth every penny. The Carved Luxury Traveler provides the aesthetics and bulk that only the higher end brands can offer. It can be a steep up-front cost, but it's preferable to breaking an expensive flagship.
