Alternatively, if you've already got a massive primary display, a smaller one can be the perfect auxiliary screen to maximize productivity. These compact LCD models are great for programmers, gamers, or those wanting to increase their multitasking capabilities. Editor's Notes

October 30, 2019:

There's not a ton differentiating today's 22-inch monitors from one another, but there are a bunch of good ones to choose from at relatively low prices. The Dell E2318H, BenQ GW2280, and LG 22BK400H are particularly good for outfitting offices because they're comfortable to look at and at the low end of the price spectrum. If you have very little room or a relatively insignificant desk, the Acer SB220Q and Philips 226E9Q may be worth a look because they don't weight very much and aren't very thick; the Philips is especially interesting because they'll replace it in advance for up to 4 years in the event of failure, which should assuage the fears of the busiest workers.

If you're going for sheer gaming performance, take a look at the Acer Nitro VG220Q, which is about as responsive and bold as they come in this size. Meanwhile, the Dell P2219H continues to uphold the company's reputation for making excellent displays; a lot of users feel that it looks superior to other monitors even with similar specifications.

And if you're looking for effective touchscreen functionality, the Asus VT229H and Planar Helium PCT2235 are two of the best. Of course, they are a bit more costly than non-touch monitors, but few components add the convenience of a desktop touchscreen. The Planar is very interesting in part because of its Helium stand that allows it to fold back almost flat with your desktop for maximum productivity.

Keep in mind that you'll basically be limited to 1080p resolutions in this size of monitor. If you're looking for something in a slightly different size or with a much sharper image, we have a great selection of 21-inch, 24-inch, and 4k monitors as well.
