Editor's Notes
January 15, 2020:
With digital camera technology moving as quickly as it does, 3D capability has come and gone as a primary function. That said, if 3D is a feature you are looking for in your next camera, there has never been a better time to get into the market. 3D camera tech has meshed with many other functions including 360 (spherical), virtual reality, and livestreaming. Given all of the cross-functionality in the 3D camera market and potential features a user may be looking for, we made sure to include a variety choices and features.
If you are someone looking for a digital camera with 3D as your priority, and you don't need the overcomplicated features of virtual reality getting in the way, the Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W3 may be the camera for you. It's a bit on the pricier side, and doesn't sport a ton of extra features, however, the moment you shoot a photo or video in 3D you can preview it on its LCD and begin your journey.
If you are someone who likes newer tech and 3D is only one of the features you want, then the Vuze XR may be the right camera for you. It isn't overly expensive and offers features like 360 spherical shooting and livestreaming. That said, if one is primarily interested in livestreaming check out a list of cameras dedicated to perfecting that ability here.
Finally, we did include an analog 35mm 3D camera -- Nishika N8000 35mm Quadrascopic Stereo Lenticular. It's quite difficult to get the film processed to prints, however, there is a resurgence of people getting the film processed and then scanning the images and turning them into animated GIFs. If you are an artist or photographer looking for the best film camera to create a unique look, then the Nishika N8000 35mm Quadrascopic Stereo Lenticular is the one for you.
