The 10 Best Bluetooth Laser Measures

Updated September 18, 2020 by Brett Dvoretz

This wiki has been updated 14 times since it was first published in January of 2019. Laser measures make determining the distance between two points simple. Many are also capable of calculating the area or volume of a room, eliminating the chance of human error. What really makes our selections special, though, is that they are equipped with Bluetooth, allowing them to send all of the data collected to your smartphone, tablet or computer via an associated app. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

September 16, 2020:

During this most recent update, we focused on two things, replacing questionable or lesser known brands with more reputable ones, and out dated devices with their newer counterparts. With this first priority, we decided to eliminate the Suaoki P7 and Mileseey P7. On the former, the associated smartphone app is buggy, and there are reports of it completely failing to work on iPhones. Regarding the latter, its laser wasn't powerful enough to use in brightly lit situations, which often caused it to struggle when getting towards the end of its claimed range. We do, of course, realize that some budget-friendly picks needed to be included for those who don't expect to use their laser measures often and who don't need the highest-quality unit. For those people, we have the very affordably-priced General Tools TS01, and the slightly more expensive, but more reliable, DeWalt DW099S.

We had to remove the Stanley TLM99s because it was discontinued by the manufacturer, so it is very difficult to still find it for sale anywhere. We also removed the Bosch GLM 100C and replaced it with its newer iteration, the Bosch GLM400CL Blaze, which boasts a further maximum range and the ability to take and store pictures for mark up with measurements. The Stabila 6520 also boasts this functionality, and a further range than the GLM400CL as well, but at roughly twice the price, the former represents a better value for those who don't need to measure points more than 400 feet apart.

The MagPie VH-80 is a unique offering on this list, as it has the ability to measure from both sides simultaneously, which can be very useful for quickly finding midpoints. This also means you don't always have to walk to one end or the other of your measurement range and can simply take your reading from any point you happen to be at between them.

January 29, 2019:

We realize that professional contractors will need much more functionality from their Bluetooth laser measures than they average consumer. For that reason, we rounded up both expensive, feature-packed models, as well as more budget-friendly option that are perfect for home use. We researched every unit on this list to ensure they provide the utmost accuracy when determining the distance between two points.
