For this latest update, we focused on speakers in the desktop to bookshelf size range, as current trends in high-end wireless audio seem to favor more compact models, and for good reason. Lastly, we updated the Airpulse A300 to the Airpulse A300 Pro, which, while also being prohibitively expensive for most people, really do tip the scales in terms of pure sonic excellence, build quality, and features.

Bluetooth technology is rapidly improving, and as time goes on, it allows more and more audio information to be transmitted from source to receiver. As a result, sound quality is approaching that of traditional wired systems. Therefore, while the phrase "bluetooth speakers for audiophiles" may sound like an oxymoron, we are fast approaching the promised land of lossless wireless listening. Despite the cantankerous naysayers' reluctance in admitting it, companies like Audioengine are making incredible Bluetooth products, like the HD6, HD3, and A5+. If you've got the money, Edifier's S2000 Pro and Airpulse's A300 are the obvious picks. As for those seeking a portable unit, the Dali Katch is one of the first that seems to have the whole package, including sound clarity, durability, and battery life.
