The 10 Best Car Key Holders

Updated October 28, 2019 by Sam Kraft

This wiki has been updated 22 times since it was first published in March of 2018. If car keys aren’t the most frequently misplaced items in modern history, they must be pretty darn close. For habitual offenders, it probably makes sense to invest in one of these versatile holders. They’ll keep your keys attached to a belt or purse and protect them from damage. Some can also provide security from high-tech thieves. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

October 24, 2019:

The Buffway Smart may look nice, but it seems its sharp appearance only masks some functional deficiencies, such as a fragile clip that easily breaks and a zipper that tends to get jammed frequently. Furthermore, the Monster Magnetics MiniMag often fails in its primary duty, with multiple reports suggesting that this magnetic vehicular case may become detached from a car or truck while in transit. We removed both these items from the list.

We decided to upgrade the Keeping Universal, noting that it holds up well over time even when exposed to the elements. Users appreciate its transparent window, which allows you to operate the buttons while the fob is safely tucked inside.

In adding new items to the list, we included one high-capacity model (which can hold up to six individual keys and a fob), one pouch with anti-theft technology (similar to RFID blocking wallets), and one standard key holder that’s both compact and elegant. The AslabCrew Smart even features a built-in sponge as an extra layer of protection for your fob and keys in case it’s dropped.
