This wiki has been updated 10 times since it was first published in July of 2020. Adding more than just simple illumination to a room, chandeliers are among the most noticeable light fixtures available for any room. While they have always come with hanging crystals, there is now a wide-range of sizes, styles, and colors available that are suitable for a variety of spaces and personal preferences. Some can accept incandescent bulbs while others have LEDs built in. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Special Honors

Savoy House The extensive catalog at Savoy House ranges from muted and understated styles to highly intricate and even gaudy designs suitable for fancy foyers and prestigious hotels. You'll pay a premium for most of their selections, but you can be reasonably certain that you're getting an extremely well-made fixture. savoyhouse.com

Baccarat Lighting You'll have a hard time finding anything fancier than most of Baccarat's collection of esteemed lighting products. Of course, they will also set you back a considerable amount, but if you insist on the best and brightest, and have the budget to back it up, this is a good place to start. baccarat.com

Editor's Notes

September 11, 2020:

Deciding on light fixtures is a somewhat subjective process, especially when you're looking for a chandelier, which is essentially the centerpiece of the ceiling. For that reason, we wanted to include a range of designs that will fit in a variety of home styles. The DingliLighting Vintage, Saint Mossi Antique, and Globe Electric Jackson, for example, have a decent amount of personality, and are agreeable enough that they work in almost any type of decor. The Hardware House Bristol is similarly understated, as well as particularly affordable, and its matching counterparts make the whole family worthwhile for outfitting an entire room.

Some, like the Artika CLY1-C2 and especially the Surpars House Rustic, have a decidedly vintage appearance that might not be right for every home, but if they do fit the scenery, they can really add quite the ambiance. The Walnut Tree Sputnik is another highly noticeable design that's quite a bit different from the conventional idea of a chandelier, but also suitable to a variety of home styles.

Then there are some notably more modern options. The Meerosee Contemporary is an interesting choice that uses precision-cut acrylic posts instead of traditional glass or paper shades, and its unconventional appearance really starts to push into postmodern territory. The same could be said for the Jaycomey Square, which has a very low profile and comes in a few sizes and two colors to suit the height and color scheme of the room.
