The 10 Best Duck Decoys

Updated May 13, 2019 by Quincy Miller

This wiki has been updated 16 times since it was first published in May of 2019. If you want your next hunt to be successful, heading out into the field with a high-quality duck decoy is essential. These options are ultra-realistic, helping to lull waterfowl into a false sense of security. Their attractive paint schemes and durable bodies ensure they'll be around for years to come — the only thing they're lacking is a built-in excuse for when you miss. When users buy our independently chosen editorial recommendations, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Cabela's Northern Flight Made with sound-dampening ring bases, these decoys are as useful sitting in tall grasses as they are floating in the water. They even come with a bag that makes them easier to transport — and harder to lose. cabelas.com

Editor's Notes

May 07, 2019:

We love the added movement you get with the Mojo Outdoors Motion, but having to lug batteries out into the field with you could end up being a pain, which knocked it down a couple of spots. It does have a generous run time, though, so it's still a great tool to carry with you on your next day trip.

Avian-X was able to register several of their products on this edition of our rankings, and for good reason: they make durable, lifelike decoys that draw attention from their intended targets. The Top Flight Fusion 8076 was our favorite of the bunch, but really, you can't go too far wrong with any of their models included here.

Of course, not everyone buys decoys in order to lure waterfowl to their demise. Both the RioRand Garden and Avian-X Top Flight Floater are capable of dressing up your garden or simply serving as decorations. Even so, they still perform admirably in their primary functions.
