A hoverboard seat attachment can add a bit of versatility to your self-balancing scooter, allowing you to quickly convert it into a go-kart for an alternative riding experience. Whether you're shopping for yourself or a child, it's important to stay safe. Always wear protective pads and a helmet, as falling can cause serious injuries, and only ride in open spaces away from vehicles. Editor's Notes

September 02, 2020:

Hoverboard seat attachments are great for both children and adults, providing a go-kart-like experience. For the most part, they're controlled using two handles that initiate turns by either pulling or pushing on the levers. While it's easy to get carried away with having fun, it's important to always take precautions to ensure that no one gets hurt. These scooters should always be ridden in open areas, away from cars or traffic. Additionally, helmets and padded protection should be worn at all times.

The EverCross New Gen, Hover-1 Falcon, Hover-1 Buggy, and Hishine Attachment all offer a smooth ride on even pavement, thanks to the rubber or polyurethane wheels. However, rough surfaces can quickly turn the experience into a bumpy ride.

Those looking for something that can handle a wider range of terrain should consider the Hiboy HC-02. It has shock absorbers under the seat and a large tire in the front, allowing it to handle gravel and dirt. However, riding on uneven terrain still requires an off-road hoverboard, and those looking to hit the dirt should make sure their scooter is capable of doing so. Further, riding on such terrain should be done in open areas, away from large rocks, trees, or other obstacles that can cause serious injuries. Just as with riding on concrete, helmets and padding are a must as a seemingly open area can have partially buried rocks hiding in plain sight.

While all the options on the list can accommodate both adults and children, the EverCross New Gen and Hover-1 Falcon are the best suited for the latter. The Hover-1 Falcon plays off of children's imagination by featuring two "rocket boosters" behind the seat, which release fog and shine a blue light. The EverCross New Gen is great for parents concerned with their child's safety as it's the only option that features a flag on the chair. While hoverboards should always be used in safe places free of traffic, the flag increases the kart's visibility to anyone in the area.

Those looking for an alternative design should look at the Hyper Gogo GoKart Kit. It converts a hoverboard into a fully-functional go-kart with pedals and a steering wheel. This is the only option that features front-wheel steering, providing the most traditional driving experience.
