With their compact size, wall-mounted toilets offer greater flexibility when designing and installing a bathroom. They can be set at any height you like, making them a good choice for the elderly or those with disabilities. They also take up much less space, and since the tank is concealed, are easier to keep clean, while giving the bathroom a more minimalist feel, and look especially good when paired with a wall-mounted sink. They are, however, more expensive than a traditional toilet due to the complicated installation and the necessity of a carrier frame and in-wall tank. In this ranking, we look at various tank options, which are mainly governed by the toilet you choose and the desired location.
The most important consideration is the depth of the wall, which should be made of wood or metal studs that are either four or six inches thick. Getting this measurement right is of primary importance as manufacturers make two different models, and with the exception of the Toto DuoFit, these aren't interchangeable. The Kohler K-18829-NA and the Geberit Concealed are both suitable for 4-inch studs, which are most commonly found in residential properties. Commercial properties will probably have six-inch studs, and as such the Homary Wall Hung or the Geberit 111.335.00.5 would be the correct size. Of course, if you are fully renovating your bathroom, then installing six-inch studs at the outset will solve this problem.
Wall hung toilets are available in two width sizes, so its important to check the mounting hole centers' measurements with the manufacturer. The Geberit 111.335.00.5 has mounting options for both, but many do not. The Geberit Up200 was chosen for this list as it is one of the most compact on the market, with a minimum height of just 31 inches, which is a good choice for installing under a window. It also features an actuator that can be installed horizontally or vertically, meaning the flush plate can be installed on a shelf, thus maintaining the uncluttered look of a tiled wall. The Swiss Madison SM-WC324 is notable as it is designed for a floor-mounted toilet and therefore requires no carrier frame.
