These iOS controllers can transform your gaming experience when compared to the performance of playing with a touchscreen. All these models are well-suited to pair with iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs and other Apple products, and some are also compatible with Android and Windows PCs, as well as official consoles. Most of these options work wirelessly, though a few offer only a wired connection. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

July 21, 2020:

Most of these choices have all the buttons, joysticks and triggers of controllers made for official video games consoles, like the Xbox Wireless, Gamesir T4 Pro and the Sony DualShock 4. Some have fewer controls and are slightly more portable, like the GameSir G6. The Rotor Riot 1850, the PXN Speedy and the Dark Walker 206 include phone brackets that make viewing the game easier and enhances the overall experience. Options like the Gamesir T4 Pro don't have a phone bracket, but are reliable options that are easy to pair with a variety of devices.

In the realm of iOS controllers, some models are officially licensed to work with all Apple games and bear a MFi certification, like the PXN Speedy. To receive an MFi certification, manufacturers run their products through compliance and safety tests, pay some royalties to Apple and gain a “Made for iPhone” badge on their product. Non-MFi certified options, like the Xbox Wireless and Sony DualShock 4, did not work with previous versions of iOS but are now compatible with devices using iOS 13 or higher.

Battery life varies considerably among these options. The Dark Walker 206 can run for just 10 hours on a single charge while the GameSir G6 can go for 80 hours. Gamers that want a power bank in their controller can look at the The Delam Mobile, as it has a USB-port on the back that allows it to recharge your phone or tablet, even while gaming.

There are quite a few alternative Bluetooth controllers not specifically designed for iOS, and several Android-focused options also tend to work well with Apple products.
