The 10 Best Laptop Cleaners
Editor's Notes
December 31, 2020:
We decided to add a little more variety to our recommendations by including the ColorCoral Gel. Though it is an unusual solution, it can actually be quite effective, however some may not like that it requires them to push hard on their keys to get it deep into the crevices. Even if you fall into this category, you may still like it for removing dust from your screen and other cracks in your device, like the fan grate. It takes the place of Bryson Screen Cleaner, which we felt wasn't really needed as we already have two other cleaning solutions, and both are made from all natural ingredients. We also removed the EasyGo CompuCleaner 2.0, as it tended to get overly hot if used for extended periods of time, and we still have the XPower Airrow Pro and Metro Vacuum DataVac, neither of which suffers from that issue. In its place we added the Oxo Good Grips Sweep & Swipe as a convenient option that you can keep in your laptop bag for a quick cleaning anywhere.

You have a laptop bag to keep it safe while traveling and a lock to protect it from thieves, but how clean is your computer? Depending on your work style, your laptop could be one of the dirtiest item you own. Not only is it a magnet for dust and fingerprints, but it can also collect crumbs, cigarette ash, skin flakes or pet dander, lint, and hair. A regular cleaning should be an important part of your maintenance regimen so that your screen stays bright and your keyboard remains responsive.
There are three basic approaches when it comes to cleaning your laptop, and some people use more than one method. You can blow dust and debris away, suck it up, or wipe it off with a solution and soft cloth. The method you use depends on personal preference, your work environment, and your use habits that affect how dirty your laptop gets. For example, a powerful blower, like the XPower Airrow Pro, will do the job, but it's loud enough to disturb coworkers if you work in a shared office.
Our selections cover all three cleaning methods so that you can choose the best options for you. In this update, we evaluated items based on effectiveness, quality, and value. We removed a couple of items due to concerns about their availability and added the Meco Mini Vac. It doesn't have the strongest suction, but it does the job if your keyboard doesn't get too dirty between uses.
