The 10 Best Nintendo Consoles
Editor's Notes
January 14, 2021:
Since 1985, when Nintendo released their first console, the Nintendo Entertainment System, they have been pushing the boundaries of gaming capabilities and delighting countless numbers of people in the process. Their latest iteration, the Switch Neon is proving to be one of the most popular yet. But let's not forget the remarkable consoles they have developed over the past three decades, for example, the GameCube Jet Black broke new ground in 2001 as their first release to use compact disks, and the Wii White was the first to incorporate motion sensors into the controllers, thus revolutionizing modern gameplay.
Whichever console you decide to become reacquainted with, remember that most are many years old, and therefore, with the exception of the Switch Lite and the Switch Neon, they are pre-owned and due care and diligence needs to be shown before deciding to purchase.

Both the NES and Super NES on this list are modern versions of their classic counterparts, neither of which require cartridges, instead drawing on a library of pre-loaded games. This definitely cuts down on clutter, but users should be aware that any old games they have laying around won't be compatible with these updated models.
