Deciding on which case is the most suitable for transporting your Nintendo Switch will depend on several factors, including the size of your system and associated accessories and how far and often you will travel. A smaller case, such as the Orzly Portable Shell or the RDS Industries Ballistic is ideal for short journeys or for taking your console to a friend's house. However, they are not large enough to carry everything at once, nor are they durable enough for very rough handling.

If you need to travel further afield, and want to take your whole system with you, then one of our updated choices may be preferable. The iVoler Travel Bag and the Smatree N600 are two larger options that have dedicated slots for each item and plenty of room for accessories, the latter also has a hard exterior shell with rubberized corner protectors.

The PowerA Everywhere Messenger Bag is another larger option that is officially licensed by Nintendo. This latest iteration features a removable neoprene pouch for storing the console and up to six games, offering water protection, too.

These bags are ideal for longer trips when you plan on connecting your console to a television rather than using it in handheld mode. If you only need to take the bare minimum with you, the AmazonBasics Vault is a good protective option, but keep in mind that it's so slim that it doesn't even have enough space for a charging cable. For those who like to travel with a lot of games, the Daydayup Carrying Pouch, Butterfox Hard Case, and Ortz Protective are all good options, holding 20, 19, and 29 cartridges, respectively. If you're just looking for something that will guard your device against scratches and damage, the Mumba Heavy Duty is a great protective cover with a super-slim profile with the added benefit of making your console more comfortable to hold.
