This wiki has been updated 27 times since it was first published in December of 2018. Most al fresco entertaining occurs in the summer months, when the air can be a bit stifling. These outdoor ceiling fans with lights make for a decorative and functional addition to any porch or patio, and, along with providing some welcome airflow and illumination, they can withstand moisture and humidity. For safety’s sake, always rely on a licensed electrician for any hardwired installations. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

September 14, 2020:

The Honeywell Glencrest comes on board in today’s update, and it’s as attractive as it is functional, thanks to three vintage Edison bulbs and a clear seeded glass cover. Its oil rubbed bronze finish is complimented by its five stylish pine blades. It gives an output of 450 lumens, and features a conveniently dimmable design. This versatile choice can be installed either with or without the four-inch downrod, so it’s compatible with ceilings of differing heights. We also added in the Fanimation Studio Vintere, which brings to the list an option with an industrial design that will look nice with any décor from farmhouse to modern. It’s got a black cage with an aged bronze finish, and like the Glencrest, its bulbs are of the Edison style. Just pick from among the three speed settings to reach the right comfort level for your space.

For a minimalist design that can push a lot of air, look to the newly added Craftmade Mobi, which can be mounted to either flat or angled ceilings and offers a 3,000 Kelvin color temperature. The reversible motor makes it useful in both warm and cool seasons. Lastly, we added in the Savoy House Hyannis, which boasts an elegant aged steel finish along with a bronze downrod and motor cover. This ceiling fan with a remote control enables you to easily set the speed settings and turn it on and off. In adding these four models we removed the Reiga 52 Inch and the Casa Delta-Wing, neither of which are actually designed for outdoor use. We also removed the Westinghouse Great Falls and the Emerson Callito Grove, both of which are unavailable at this time. Whichever you choose, for safety’s sake, any hardwired electrical installation should only be performed by a licensed, professional electrician.

December 28, 2018:

All fans included on this list are rated for damp conditions, making them appropriate for covered outdoor areas, but the Emerson Callito Cove took the top space for being wet-rated, giving homeowners more options for outdoor placement. The list includes a variety of styles as most homeowners want a fan that matches their décor.
