With all the excellent outdoor recessed lights readily available, there is no reason for your yard, deck, or front of your home to suffer from bland, drab darkness. Many of today's best models are so simple to install that even the most timid of DIYers can have them up and running quickly, and some offer features that make them highly practical, including motion detection. Editor's Notes

January 02, 2019:

Added several plug-and-play models for those who do not wish to tackle wiring, including the SkyGenius LED Deck Kit and the Tomshine 16-Pack. Also selected the Sengled Smart Security Floodlight; although it isn't technically a recessed unit, it can be used with a variety of existing fixtures and offers excellent motion detection and brightness. The Parmida Retrofit 4-Pack was also included despite issues with their clips, which is dependent upon the size and age of the cans into which they're installed.
