The 10 Best Paintball Masks

Updated May 06, 2020 by Sam Kraft

This wiki has been updated 26 times since it was first published in January of 2017. Safety always comes first, especially when you're engaged in an activity that involves spheres of paint flying around at upwards of 300 feet per second. Any experienced paintball player will tell you that your mask is every bit as important as your marker, so we identified options that provide a good view, plenty of ventilation, and reliable protection. They're available in a range of colors, too. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

May 01, 2020:

Our research of this category made it clear that there are fewer legitimate paintball mask producers than one would assume, given the game’s popularity. The GI Sportz VForce was no longer available, so we eliminated it from the list.

Ballers on a budget will like the low cost of the Base Goggle and Gen X Global XVSN, but they should be aware that these models don’t offer the same level of fog resistance that masks on the higher end of the spectrum do. The Empire Paintball X-Ray is also quite affordable, but it can become somewhat uncomfortable during long sessions in the field.

We note that the Dye Special Edition can easily be worn with glasses, as can both of the masks from Virtue. The JT Premise Headshield can accommodate some types of glasses, but it’s typically a tight fit.

For those who are ready to invest in the latest technology, the Dye i5 offers some state of the art features. Its multi-directional ventilation system prevents fogging in all conditions, and it has a special mount for attaching a POV camera, allowing users to record their exploits on video.
