Editor's Notes
July 02, 2019:
In the interests of thoroughness, this list includes both floor models and pallet jacks with built-in scales. Obviously, if you already own a jack or a forklift then those models will not be of interest to you, but if you're in the market for both a jack and a scale the options shown could allow you to kill two birds with one cost-effective stone. That said, they're more expensive than the floor models, so it may not be worth it for your particular business.
One often-overlooked consideration is the length of any wires that will need to be attached. If you don't want to house the display right next to the scale, make sure the connection cord is long enough to give you plenty of slack. The same goes for the power cord — although many of the scales here allow you to sidestep that issue entirely by using batteries.
Give thought to how easy it will be to load the thing as well. One model on the list, the PrimeScales PS-IN108, comes with a ramp to make things easier. Others have removable feet to reduce their stature. You may have plans to put your scale in-ground, in which case this wouldn't matter, but otherwise do a little research now to save yourself a lot of hassle down the line.
