These energy-efficient panel radiators are designed to give personalized heat at close quarters, while some models are powerful enough to heat a whole room. They are available in a range of sizes and with a variety of features, and many are capable of being wall-mounted as a permanent fixture. Editor's Notes

January 27, 2021:

Panel heaters are effective due to their large surface area which is heated using an electrical element. They give direct heat to persons within close proximity and also create airflow over their surface called convection, whereby the rising hot air displaces the cold air above it, causing it to circulate around the room.

In this update, we ensured the ranking features a variety of designs for different heating requirements. For small rooms, the EconoHome Convector and the Envi High-Efficiency are two wall-mounted options that are safe for use in a bathroom. The NewAir AH-400 is a small portable heater that is easily positioned under a desk to provide personalized heat. Similarly, the DeLonghi Mica can be moved around as necessary and has a wheeled base and built-in handle. If you are looking for a larger unit that can heat a whole room, then a model with a built-in fan, such as the DeLonghi SlimStyle, is a good choice as it increases the convection process and propels the warm air around the room quickly and efficiently.

November 09, 2018:

Excluded certain models with potential safety issues, such as faulty wiring, suspicious smells, or a tendency to develop hot spots, focusing on models designed to minimize electrical faults, fire hazards, and burn risks, especially around children and pets.
