This wiki has been updated 11 times since it was first published in October of 2018. Aviation requires a significant amount of precision, and it's vital that a pilot has all the information he or she needs to fly accurately, as well as a sturdy surface on which they can preform certain calculations with the help of their instruments. The kneeboards on our list offer just that, with some models even including the ability to incorporate a tablet. When users buy our independently chosen editorial recommendations, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Skip to the best pilot kneeboard on Amazon.

Editor's Notes

November 18, 2018:

This is a bit of a Goldilocks category, with size being a major determining factor. Larger options, like the Jeppesen Trifold, are often on the feature-rich side, but might be cumbersome in small cockpits. Smaller items suffer the inverse, lacking features despite their nice fit. For this list, the best products landed somewhere in the middle.

Daniel Imperiale holds a bachelor’s degree in writing, and proudly fled his graduate program in poetry to pursue a quiet life at a remote Alaskan fishery. After returning to the contiguous states, he took up a position as an editor and photographer of the prestigious geek culture magazine “Unwinnable” before turning his attention to the field of health and wellness. In recent years, he has worked extensively in film and music production, making him something of a know-it-all when it comes to camera equipment, musical instruments, recording devices, and other audio-visual hardware. Daniel’s recent obsessions include horology (making him a pro when it comes to all things timekeeping) and Uranium mining and enrichment (which hasn’t proven useful just yet).
