April 22, 2020:

Plant pots come in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and materials. It is very important to know which kind of plant you want to cultivate before buying a pot. Some are designed to keep plants that bear fruit, while others are suited for indoor plants like devil's ivy or a banana plant. If you are growing your own plants from seeds, then you will want to purchase nursery pots, as well as some larger pots for when the plant is fully grown. Drainage is something to consider as well, as many of our options come with drainage holes, plugs, and self-watering systems. Once you have made your choice you can grab some soil and a watering can and away you go.

For amateur growers, it is good to keep in mind that it is easier to grow in a larger pot than a smaller one. This is because there is more soil, which enables the plant's roots to stay moist for long periods, and stops a constant fluctuation of temperature, which will mitigate the damage to your plant.

If you are just starting out with some seeds or seedlings check out the Kinglake Plastic Starter. These will give you exactly what you need to get going, and they don't cost a lot.

For those that want a more permanent solution, the CFKJ Nursery Terracotta is a classic and reliable choice. If you want the look of terracotta but not the weight, the Bloem Planter, which is plastic, will be a good fit. If they do outgrow these, then you might need to look into getting a raised garden bed to give them some more room.

If you want a kiln-fired ceramic look, then consider the Rivet Rustic. It has a beautiful pattern that will look great in kitchens or dining rooms, or even in a small garden.

Finally, if you have a serious green thumb that wants to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, or anything of the sort, you should check out the Smart Pot. It is made from a breathable fabric so it won't trap heat, and it is used by commercial tree growers to keep their trees healthy before sale.

If you like the self watering designs like the Gardenix Decor Self-Watering but would like something larger, check out these self-watering planters.
