The 10 Best Pool Noodles

Updated July 17, 2019 by Brett Dvoretz

This wiki has been updated 18 times since it was first published in July of 2019. Pool noodles are classic toys that children and adults can enjoy. They let you lounge at the perfect submerged level for staying cool and relaxing in the water while keeping your head above it. They're versatile, too, making for excellent exercise aids, as well as props for games. Note that they are not designed as lifesaving or flotation devices, and children should always be supervised in water. Editor's Notes

July 11, 2019:

Though the pool noodle may seem like a simple item, we wanted to round up a selection of models that shows just how versatile the toy can be, and how many different designs there are. If your main use for a noodle is extended relaxation, and you're looking for something smaller to complement your large loungers, then you'll like the Big Joe Premium and the Big Joe Sling, both of which feature a soft mesh cover that feels nice on the skin, and the latter of which is complete with a sling seat and a cup holder for the ultimate day of kicking back in the water.

As for those who need an accessory to pump up their water exercises, the AquaJogger Sqoodle, with its square shape, and the Oodles of Noodles Deluxe, with their solid cores that can handle heavy use, are great options. Pool noodles are, of course, great for kids or adults just looking to have fun, too, which is why we included the SwimWays Standard — a more traditional foam option that's great for playing games. Plus, since it's a set of 35 toys, the entire family can have multiple noodles all to themselves. Meanwhile, the BigMouth Inc. Giant Pool Float will appeal to the goofier adult who likes to stand out at the pool.
