June 04, 2020:
Although they aren't known for being particularly stylish, we think it's tough to top the Crocs Classic Clog for showers, as well as for any other wet, casual environment. They offer more protection for the top of the foot than most standard flip flops do, as well as more traction, to boot. Plus, they come in an extensive range of colors, so you can match them easily to your bathing suit, gardening outfit, and more. They aren't exactly inexpensive, however, which is why we kept the Amoji Unisex Clogs. The Amoji aren't quite as durable, but for casual use, they're fine.
If you need something a bit more fashionable, there's the Crocs Kadee II or the Teva Hurricane Drift. These are lightweight and attractive, but as with many options made from EVA foam and similar materials, they could shrink if left in the sun or a very hot car. Or, if you have a more athletic style, consider the Adidas Adilette Aqua Slide or the Nike Kawa. They won't take up too much room in your gym bag, and they should dry relatively quickly.
Finally, for those whose main concern is safety, we added the Secure Slip Resistant. Specifically designed for stability, they offer good traction; this doesn't make the wearer invincible, however, so caution and fall prevention techniques are still important. It's also crucial that they are the right size. If the mesh upper is too loose on the foot, they will flop around and could present a hazard.
