The 8 Best Snow Shovels With Wheels

Updated February 24, 2021 by Will Rhoda

This wiki has been updated 21 times since it was first published in December of 2018. Every winter, thousands of people end up hospitalized due to injuries from strenuous snow removal. Instead of becoming a statistic, consider using a shovel with wheels. These clever inventions are designed to minimize the effort and strain of heavy lifting, and your back and arms will thank you later. Our list includes options of different sizes and shapes, covering a full range of budgets. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Husqavarna There's nothing wrong with a good snow shovel, and for light-duty applications they can even be more convenient than mechanical alternatives, at times. However, if you're gearing up to wage war on some serious snowdrifts, there's rarely a comparable alternative to a solid snow blower. In this field, Husqavarna's one of the best, offering models for consumers and professionals alike. husqvarna.com

Snow Joe If you're looking for something that's even easier to wield than a wheeled option, then it might be time to start thinking about a motorized model. Snow Joe has a host of electric solutions, offering both corded and battery-powered selections. snowjoe.com

Editor's Notes

February 22, 2021:

It was a busy round of updates, as most of our previous picks were currently afflicted with various availability issues. Notably, we’re definitely right into the part of the year that might see companies in this space suffering from supply shortages, but without any concrete way to gauge which of these options were merely dealing with inventory problems, and which had fallen completely by the wayside since we last visited this list, we thought it was best to strip out all suspect selections and replace them with choices that were immediately available. After all, if you need a snow shovel, you likely needed it yesterday, not sometime in the future.

The choices that we eliminated were the Ohuhu Pusher, Snow Wolf, Ivation Bright Orange, Ivation Dual Angle, Yeoman & Company 74900 and Power Dynamics SnoDozer.

Some of our new choices this time around include the EasyGoProducts EGP-SNOW-001 — a 25-inch model with a single, 16-inch, magnesium-alloy wheel that makes it a great choice for taking on narrow pathways and decks; the Orientools Rolling Snow — a V-shaped model that is also recommended for sidewalks and similar, but might not be the best choice for taking on larger areas like driveways and parking lots; and the Tuffiom Pavement Clearing — which is nearly 20 inches tall, making it a great choice for tackling deep snow drifts after an unwanted blizzard.

If a wheeled shovel seems like it might be a bit much for your purposes, we also maintain a separate, generalized list of Best Snow Shovels. And, if a wheeled shovel seems like it might not be enough for you, we also keep a current list of Best Snow Blowers, and even have a separate set of rankings for Best Cordless Snow Blowers.

December 28, 2018:

The main criteria in choosing the best snow shovel with wheels is how effectively it clears your pathway. Comfort and durability come in as high priorities as well, and the top models on our list – Snowcaster, Dakota, and Ohuhu – each get high marks across the board for these important factors. Adjustability goes hand-in-hand with comfort, so be sure to review any model you’re considering in that department as well.
