Editor's Notes

April 07, 2020:

When purchasing a strike plate that's meant for your deadbolt or door handle latch, it's important to take precise measurements of your door fixture. Some people had to return their purchase because it did not fit. However, if you have a wood chisel set, you can chip away at your door frame to make your model fit properly.

The Gator GSP-0 and Defender Security U 10385 are great options since they both have extensive warranties, are very durable, and are easy to install if your setup matches their measurements. They cost a bit more than some other options on this list, but they're worth the price if you want to ensure you have the most secure option possible.

The Decorlux 003 is a great solution if you're building or renovating a home or office space. It's a good bulk option since each plate ends up costing less than most single units and it comes with plenty of screws.

Be sure to wear the proper safety equipment when working with tools such as drills and chisels since splinters of wood or metal could get in your eyes and skin. Invest in safety goggles and gloves to help minimize safety hazards.
