The 10 Best Tonneau Covers For The Chevy Silverado

Updated February 27, 2019 by Brett Dvoretz

This wiki has been updated 21 times since it was first published in January of 2019. There are a variety of reasons to put a tonneau cover on the bed of your Chevy Silverado, or any pickup, for that matter. Soft models keep your cargo nice and dry while you transport it, while hard models do that plus act as a theft deterrent, making it safer to keep expensive equipment in the bed. Both kinds can make your truck more aerodynamic, translating to better gas mileage. When users buy our independently chosen editorial recommendations, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

February 23, 2019:

We wanted to include budget options, as well as more expensive hard models that offer better security. If you often leave expensive work equipment or other cargo in your truck's bed overnight, then the Bak Revolver X2, UnderCover Ultra FlexHard UX12019, Gator Evo Hard Bi-Fold, and Extang Solid Fold 2.0 are all good choices. If your main concern is keeping stuff dry when it rains or out of sight, then you would be more than happy with the Gator ETX Soft Tri-Fold, TruXedo TruXport Soft Roll Up, Tyger Auto T3,MaxMate Low Profile Roll Up, Tyger Auto T1, or Extang Trifecta 2.O. If you want ease of access, the panel style models are often best for both hard and soft options, though they too also have their drawbacks. Most don't allow full access to your bed unless you completely remove the entire thing, though this isn't true for all models. Another issue is that many of them block most, if not all, of your rear window when opened. The Bak Revolver X2 easily earned the top spot on our list because it offers all of the benefits of hard model, such as security, strength, and durability, and combines those with the benefits of soft, roll-up models, namely the ability access your entire bed at once.
