The 10 Best USB-C To Headphone Jack Adapters

This wiki has been updated 17 times since it was first published in May of 2020. When Apple boldly dispensed with the headphones output on the iPhone 7, the rest of the smartphone market was quick to follow suit, with only a few companies continuing to provide a 3.5mm jack on their flagship products. Anyone who prefers a wired connection over wireless connectivity and has a USB-C device without an output jack would benefit from one of these handy adapters. Editor's Notes

June 12, 2020:

It wasn’t so long ago that the idea of a smartphone without a 3.5-millimeter jack was unthinkable, yet with the proliferation of wireless technology, and the aggressive marketing of Bluetooth headphones such as Apple’s Air Pods and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds it is now considered normal. In fact, most flagship phones, and now the Apple iPad, have USB-C sockets where once a headphone output would sit nearby.

One issue that was once faced when using a USB-C to headphone adapter was the fact that you could not put your phone on charge when the unit was plugged in. This has changed, however, with the introduction of models like the Linklike Upgraded 2-in-1, Bimonk Dual Earphone, Bojuren 2-Pack, and the ESR 2-in-1, which feature a USB-C input socket for connecting a charger at the same time while your adapter is in use.

Other models, including the AuxLink Hi-Fi Pro, Syihlon 2-Pack, ZooAux Audio Dongle, LC-Dolida Nylon, have high-end DAC (digital-analog converter) chips, which help ensure there is as little loss in sound quality as possible during audio transmission. Additionally most, including the LC-Dolida Nylon, Syihlon 2-Pack, ESR 2-in-1, and Linklike Upgraded 2-in-1 are constructed using top-grade copper wiring with multi-layered cores in order to eliminate noise interference and add strength, with some models, such as the ZooAux Audio Dongle, being stress-tested to over 20,000 bends.
