The 10 Best Washcloths
This wiki has been updated 16 times since it was first published in January of 2018. Washcloths are a versatile asset that can either be used to dry your hands and face or distribute soap in the shower or bath, and some are even durable enough to pick up spills and messes around the house. Just be sure to wash them often, since they can harbor harmful bacteria, and when you do, try to observe the recommended laundry instructions in order to improve their longevity. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki.

It wasn’t an exceptionally tumultuous round of updates, as most of our previous picks turned out to still be good choices for the category. Our only two new omissions were the MakeUp Eraser Original Pink and Brooklyn Bamboo, which were both removed due to availability issues. To replace these two, and mix things up a bit with our primarily cotton list, we added two new options made with different materials.
The Ayate Natural is a Mexican-made option comprising woven agave fibers. Sold in a pack of six, it definitely isn’t the most economical selection, but it is fast-drying and mold resistant, and users looking for a washcloth that can deliver a lot of exfoliation are likely to like it.
The HipHop Panda Soft Absorbent is also sold in a pack of six, but this one’s made of bamboo fibers. Its seven color choices look like they were all picked from pastel pallets, and between those hues and their branding its obvious that they’re targeting the baby market, but at 10 inches by 10 inches, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t make a great choice for adults, as well. If you’re the sort of person who likes to go big, a small discount is offered with a pack of 30, and it comes in a serviceable gift box, in case you’ve got a shower coming up.
If you need something a bit bigger than a washcloth to cover your scrubbing and drying needs, then don’t stop here, feel free to swing by our lists of hand towels and bath towels to see if there’s any selections there that you might be interested in.

There are many types of washcloths, but we have looked for a variety that will cover all bases, including makeup removal, baby care, and cleaning. For general purpose use, the Utopia Multi-Purpose and the AmazonBasics Cotton remain fine options; they aren't especially luxurious, but they won't break the bank and they're safe for both the washer and dryer. For a more upscale feel, we added the Stone & Beam 4 Pack, as the Abyss Habidecor have become quite difficult to find. Stone & Beam bath towels are known for their durability and quality, making them a fine addition to any bathroom.
As for specific-purpose choices, we added the Salux Nylon in place of the fairly similar Kuma model. Salux cleansing cloths have developed quite a following thanks to their virtually unmatched exfoliating abilities; we feel this makes for a better choice, even though they aren't as elegant looking as the ones from Kuma and other competitors. We also selected the MakeUp Eraser Original Pink. It is able to clean all traces of makeup from the face, as promised, but it is rather expensive considering you only receive one in each order.
Weezie Piped Edge Considering that you can buy several dozen washcloths for the cost of just two of these Weezie Piped Edge, they certainly won't be a palatable choice for everyone. Nevertheless, they command a high price thanks to their durable organic cotton construction, and they can be monogrammed for a touch of personalization. weezietowels.com
Fur Wash Cloth When you're on the go, whether on a plane or at the local farmer's market, a Fur Wash Cloth can help you refresh in a flash. They're single use but biodegradable, so you can tuck a few into your purse or backpack to remove grime, sweat, or dirt and not feel bad about tossing them out when you're done. furyou.com
Tatcha Kinu Pure Silk The luxurious Tatcha Kinu Pure Silk smoothes and polishes your skin, whether you use it dry for gentle exfoliation or wet to really slough off some dead cells. It is helpful for removing makeup, but is a little fragile and made to last only about a year. tatcha.com
