Killspencer Collector’s Edition If you’re going to spend this much on a baseball mitt, you may want to designate it as a display piece rather than taking it to the diamond. Editor's Notes
July 07, 2020:
Needed to remove a few items from the list for various reasons, including performance and availability issues. We determined that the Nokona 1250C Walnut was designed primarily for softball, and therefore opted to eliminate that glove as well. We also decided to replace the Mizuno Samurai with a higher quality catcher’s mitt from the same company.
Noted that the Rawlings Player Preferred is worth consideration if you’re looking for a good mid-range glove — it costs more than an introductory budget option, but we wouldn’t describe it as expensive. It’s also worth mentioning that the Wilson A2000 may take a bit longer to break in than a typical mitt, but users rave about its performance. It’s safe to say it’s worth the effort.
In the Franklin Sports Meshtek, we added a mitt that will help toddlers get started with the sport. Its low cost is nice, since they’ll likely outgrow it somewhat quickly. Two additional Mizuno models have been newly placed on the list as well — one catcher’s mitt and one youth utility glove. Both offer exceptional performance, a secure fit for most players, and ample padding on the palm.
