The 9 Best Broiler Pans

Updated May 29, 2020 by Karen Bennett

This wiki has been updated 17 times since it was first published in April of 2018. The broiler is one of the most underutilized kitchen tools. It puts out a lot of heat, can add beautiful charred edges to meats and vegetables, and can cook foods in a matter of minutes. The durable pans featured here can stand up to high temperatures, and they’re available in a variety of sizes and materials, including disposable and nonstick models that make cleanup a breeze. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

May 26, 2020:

Unlike standard roasting pans that tend to be thinner, these heavy-duty broiler pans can withstand the high temperatures that are required when you use your oven’s broiler. In this update, we kept the Range Kleen Black in its number one spot, as this option is tough to beat when it comes to quality and ease of use. It can withstand temperatures as high as 1,025 degrees Fahrenheit, which is much higher than many, and is suitable for an outdoor grill as well as the broiler of your oven. Although it’s available in multiple sizes, this particular one is compact enough to fit into many toaster ovens, making it a convenient choice for use in campers, boats, and anywhere with a small oven. It’s also great for making cakes, desserts, lasagna, and more. In this update, we added a second throwaway model to the list, the Reynolds Disposable, which actually are good for several uses before you part with them, and they’re recyclable, to boot. They’re sold in a pack of three and are good for use when you’re broiling bacon or fish, and they’ll provide a crisp, delicious finish. They join the Handi-Foil Disposable on our list, which come in a pack of 25, are kosher certified, and are made in the United States.

The Norpro Stainless Steel also remains high on the list, thanks to its durability and nonstick surface. Just spritz it with a little cooking spray, and cleanup will be a breeze. It’s also conveniently safe for the dishwasher. It includes a roasting pan for when you want to place pork loins or other large cuts of meat into the oven. An affordable choice is the SmartChoice Basic, which sports a compact build that allows you to use it in a wide range of oven sizes. It provides for even heat distribution and also comes with a roasting tray. In today’s update we removed the Granite Ware 3-Piece, which features edges that are sharp and a coating that chips off rather easily.
