The 10 Best Collapsible Walking Canes
Special Honors
GT-TT Travel Cane. The ultra-lightweight GT-TT is made from carbon fiber, and as such, is notably expensive. It features a traditionally-styled curved faux-wood handle, a wrist strap to keep it from dropping, and a non-slip rubber foot. Although marketed as a travel cane, due to its collapsible design and resultant portability, it would make an ideal folding device for everyday use. elderluxe.com

July 29, 2020:
When choosing the ideal collapsible walking cane, its length is one of the most important factors to consider, as a poorly matching cane could lead to physical injury due to bad posture, or could heighten the risk of a fall. All the models in this ranking are adjustable by at least four inches and should suit most statures, but if this is a concern, you may wish to seek advice from a physician.
If you are looking for a standard collapsible walking cane, with an elastic cord that connects it, then there are a number to choose from here. The Vaunn Easy Grip, Vive Foldable, BigAlex Folding, Switch Sticks Soiree, Idem Adjustable, D.S.Care 5-Level, and KingGear Mobility all pull apart at three joints and fold into manageable sizes for storage. Of these, the BigAlex Folding, Idem Adjustable, and KingGear Mobility each have the additional feature of a built-in LED lamp, that not only assists with visibility, but also alerts others to your presence when walking at night.
Another common feature is a large base that disperses weight over several small feet. This helps the cane stand up on its own while not in use, assists with balance, rotates to help with turning, and pivots forward and backward, ensuring that as the cane rocks, the tip stays firmly on the ground. Models with this functionality include the BigAlex Folding, HurryCane Freedom Edition, and the KingGear Mobility.
Two items on the list that function differently to the others are the Pocket Cane Ultra Compact and the Medical King Special. The former is telescopic and takes up very little space when collapsed. This has the added benefit of being able to extend two-thirds of the way, to help you rise out of a seated position, before fully extending it for walking. The latter is an upright staff, much like a hiking pole, with a specially molded handle that helps users maintain a straight posture, rather than hunching forward.
