The 10 Best Console Tables
Editor's Notes
August 21, 2019:
When choosing a console table, you'll want to consider size, price, storage space, and how it will fit in with your existing decor. We've included styles ranging from simple and rustic to sleek and modern at price points to work with any budget.
For those who prefer classic designs, the Ashley Furniture Signature Gavelston is a nice option made from a combination of natural and engineered wood. At 64 inches wide with a full-length bottom shelf and four drawers, it offers plenty of storage space. The Martin Svensson Home is a moderately-priced table with slatted shelves that are perfect for storing and displaying bottles of wine. At less than $150, the Convenience Concepts American Heritage and Coaster Briarcliff are both quite affordable, but they have components made from medium-density fiberboard, so they won't last as long as a solid wood table.
For dorms, apartments, and other small spaces, the Leick Mission Hall Russet is just the right size. It's made from solid ash wood, but still reasonably priced, and it offers a decent amount of storage space thanks to a wide drawer and lower shelf. The Homes: Inside + Out Bond is another compact model with a small drawer that's a good size for collecting keys and mail in your entryway, but don't expect it to hold much more than that. It's not the best option for those who aren't experienced at putting together furniture, though, as the assembly process is somewhat complicated and the instructions can be confusing.
While it's on the higher end of the price spectrum, the Stone & Beam Ferndale is built from solid pine, so you can expect it to last for years. It's 71 inches wide, so it can hold large televisions, and the openings in the back of the lower shelf make it easy to keep all your cables organized. A matching coffee table and side table are also available.
