The 10 Best Dog Chews

Updated March 17, 2019 by Gabrielle Taylor

This wiki has been updated 27 times since it was first published in September of 2015. Direct your pup's snack attack away from your slippers, shoes, or furniture and toward one of these dog chews instead. They come in a wide variety of different shapes, flavors, and textures to suit most pooches' palates and sizes. If proper dental care is a major concern, several of our choices are specifically designed to clean teeth and prevent tartar and plaque buildup. When users buy our independently chosen editorial recommendations, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

March 14, 2019:

Removed the Banjo & Bowden's Chicken Stackers due to availability concerns, along with the Pawstruck Natural Cow Hooves, which have a tendency to shatter and can be dangerous. If you have a particularly aggressive chewer, EcoKind Himalayan Gold, Lucky Premium Rawhides, and Buck Bone Organics should keep them busy for a while. On the other hand, Rocco & Roxie Gourmet are softer than most others, making them great for senior dogs or those who can't handle tough textures. While chewing on anything for extended periods can have benefits for dogs' oral hygiene, Greenies Original, Virbac C.E.T. VeggieDent, and Milk-Bone Brushing Treats are specifically designed to reduce plaque and tartar buildup and maintain dental health, which can also have the added benefit of getting rid of nasty breath.
